The Quilt

My mom has been quilting for a while now, she is in the process of finishing a beautiful wedding quilt for me. When we found out I was expecting my first request from Gramma was a quilt for the baby. I wanted to pick the material and help with design.
This is the quilt in progress, the first pink is to be the center piece, the green is a border and the purple/pink in the middle is a very, very soft back side to put against the baby.

Picture number 2 gives you a better idea of the layout. You can't quite tell but the pink middle also has a ribbon design to it.

Picture number 3 is almost finished, all that is left is to add another pink border around the outside, and the soft backing. The butterfly in the middle is my tattoo, we thought not only is it a great design, but also adds a much more unique look to this quilt.

I am very please with the outcome and cannot wait to see it in person. This is the first sentimental item that I have co created with my mom, and it has been cherished time for me to work on this with her.

The Crib

This is the crib as I purchased it, note the metal piece on the floor. When I got the crib home I first saw this piece and panicked thinking it was a side rail. Ohmigosh!! The baby will pinch herself in the metal. WORSE than that her head will fit through there! Damnit I have to take this crib back. Why are they still using metal? This crib is not THAT old! My neighbor who was kind enough to help me unload my new score, calmly explained to me that this piece is what supports the mattress.
I will be sure to update you all on any future embarassing moments :)

Tinkerbell and butterflies are stuck to the front of the drawers of the changing table. The lady who sold it to me said they are just rub on and can be wiped off. No thank you, Tink & butterflies are fine by mommy.

Who else is surprised the first thing I did after the crib was set up, is to put the camo sheets on?
I thought so. Moving right along then.

Complete crib! Charlene was nice enough to help me put this together. I am very pleased with it.
Today I will probably rearrange the room so I have all the furniture where I want it.

Belly

This is me at 26 weeks along side view, sorry for the odd face we were talking when the camera clicked, and we all know how I hate posing for pictures. So why pose again?
It is very interesting to see yourself in pictures, we'll just say I have A LOT of work to do on my body after baby arrives.

26 weeks front view, much better I think. As you've noticed this kid sticks straight out! But the doctor is very happy with my progress, so I must not be a monstrous as I feel.

The Nursery

The plan for the nursery is to keep the same furniture I have always had. When she is older I will give her the option to paint it if she wants to.

This is the crib set. I will be waiting for a sale. Baby stuff is damn expensive! This set is much cuter and brighter in person. If you click the picture it will enlarge itself.

This is the pink camo receiving blanket & crib sheet I just got. No they do not go with the garden theme, but they are adorable & totally up my alley.

These are the wall stickers. We (when I say we I mean me) are going with a garden theme.
Again she will be given the option to paint her room later if she wants to. I see no reason to go nuts on a nursery when her tastes will change a she grows.

Cravings

Cravings have just started to kick in, it really just seems to be one thing....anything sweet. All the time. That is really crappy to constantly fight. I live for fountain soda!I try to keep the beast at bay with fruit, the only time that backfires is if I have canned peaches, especially the raspberry flavored ones (that's right raspberry flavored canned peaches) those things are so good they should be illigal. I will eat an entire can at a time, as a matter of fact a can of raspberry flavored peaches was dinner one night. Cody was none too pleased about that and I am monitored much more closely now :)

No food aversions really, anything I like she seems to like twice as much. Anything I don't like, I still don't have the desire for. The only thing that has changed is I love hot stuff now, if it makes me sweat I'm happy. My normal non pregnant self could eat some onions & tomatoes as salsa & say "that has some kick."

Should I start to crave anything other than sugar I will update.
