Pregnancy So Far...
Yes I am in my 3rd Trimester, but I decided this would be a great update for Gramma and the baby when she's old enough to read this.
As far as pregnancy goes I have had it very easy, I am for the most part enjoying myself.
In my first trimester I was tired, not "Nyquil" tired, but still tired. Working a 5 day 40 hour work week by the time Friday came I was done. I also had to clean the house in bits and pieces, no more one day clean-a-thons.
I am hypoglycemic that puts a whole new twist on eating when you're pregnant. When I am not pregnant I need to try to eat a very balanced diet anyway, or I get moody, the shakes , weak and dizzy. When I'm pregnant that is about 10 fold, took some getting used to.
"Breast tenderness" this is like calling a house fire a marsh mellow roast. My breasts were so "tender" walking hurt, rolling over in the middle of the night hurt, a strong breeze hurt, tender indeed.
The last two first trimester items on the list were mild cravings and mood swings. I craved meat all the time, then graduated to hot dogs and tater tots. My lowest moment came when the baby decided we should cut up some hot dogs and put that into vegetable soup, she lost that battle, as good as it sounded (and it did) that was too much for mommy. Last but not least my love affair with the fountain soda!
"Mood swings", this is like the "breast tenderness" title, "mood swings" much more like Jekyll & Hyde. I had 2 melt downs before I found out I was pregnant and I'd like to thank my bosses for letting me keep my job after those episodes. After I found out I was pregnant I was able to understand why I was feeling what I was feeling and do my "best" to control it. There are still about 3 people on my list who at any given moment I would like to stab in the neck. These people do not have to do or say anything to me at all to provoke this reaction....scary.
Second trimester was great I wasn't tired anymore, and I could clean the whole house again, but any form of exercise would leave me completely spent.
I also started to get the belly, which at this point in time was still small and cute, but did cause me to look more pudgy than pregnant.
I got to start to feel all the movements and get used to her movement schedule. She responds to my moods but not as much to our voices, if there's a song on that I really like she moves a lot.
Second trimester for me was a great get to know your baby as much as you can before she gets here phase.
Third trimester so far has been great, the belly is much bigger, no longer cute to me, but everyone else enjoys it and I do look pregnant instead of pudgy. Don't get me wrong I enjoy the belly, it means she's doing well and getting bigger, it just does nothing for my body image issues. I say that knowing I will long for the firm round pregnant belly rather than the lump of unrisen bread dough belly I will be left with right after she arrives.
I still love fountain soda, raspberry flavored peaches and I would rob a bank for some ice cream. Having a wheat and dairy allergy I don't get ice cream, it's also no longer worth it. I have been off dairy so long now I am close to lactose intolerant, that makes dairy very painful for me.
