What A Day

What a crazy day, I'll just start from the beginning and walk you through it.
I had a doctor appointment at 10:30 this morning, I was scheduled for an ultrasound and my glucose test to check for Gestational Diabetes. My stomach has hurt for the past 2 days, like when you've worked out too hard hurt. When I walked by the mirror this morning I found out why, she found a new home buried in my right hip, my stomach had a huge bulge on the right side.
I went to the doctor got my ultrasound and it was confirmed she was jammed tight in my hip, so tight I was lucky to get the 2 pictures I did get. After any ultrasound of course I have to pee, and they always want a sample. I emerge from the bathroom with my sample cup of pee, and ask for a pen to write my name on it so I can leave it for the nurse, I am then informed that I am to return to the waiting room, WITH my cup of pee and wait to be called. So, off to the waiting room, cup of pee and all, only one lady seemed to have noticed, she was going to sit by me until she saw the cup and promptly sat on the opposite side of the room. This got me to thinking, I'm not a huge people person anyway, maybe I should just start carrying a cup of pee with me everywhere I go to keep people at bay.
I then see the nurse, give her the offending cup of pee and run the gauntlet, weight is great, blood pressure is good, test for glucose-Flunk!
The good news is I measure right on track, baby looks great from what they could tell of her scrunched up self, and I only gained 2 pounds in a month, bringing my total weight to....none of your business. Back to the glucose test, I am hypoglycemic anyway, no big surprise they found a problem after they made me drink 5 ounces of syrup. What this means is that in 2 weeks I will have to drink 10 ounces of syrup, with no food and have my blood drawn every hour for 3 hours. Suck!
I told the nurse I am hypoglycemic & she agreed that's probably why my test was bad news, I have not been confirmed Gestational Diabetes positive just yet, that's what the test in 2 weeks is for. What blows my mind is how uninformed some trained professionals are. The nurse told me that I should start carbing up, not necessarily with bad things like sugar, but "good stuff like fruit & ice cream"....yeah I'm not making that up. I didn't say anything but I can't do that it messes me up too bad to go around all hopped up on sugar, so way to be Diabetic informed miss health care professional.
Went grocery shopping, then had lunch with Cody, and we spent most of the day price hunting for under ground sprinkler items. I did notice 2 things, old men stare at me more now, and wow people are sure nice to pregnant ladies, smile, say hi, move their asses out of my way. I bet that would be 10 fold with my new cup of pee idea. :) Then I mailed Gramma more pink material for finishing the quilt, had one of Cody's knives shipped off to the factory, came home updated blog, and off to doggie social hour.
I got the decals for the nursery, don't roll your eyes at me, I did actually buy some. I will try to put them up tonight.
So, without further adieu, here is Miss Lentz. Like I said I was lucky to get these pictures she was so jammed up. Both are face shots, with little fists on either side.
